The meeting was organised by the Croatian Chamber of the Economy.
Croatia is a positive example of political and economic stability,
Magarinos said.
One of the first projects of UNIDO in Croatia will be to develop
social responsibility of Croatia's economy, notably small and
medium-size enterprises. A document on the matter was signed in the
Economy Ministry earlier today. The project should be the foundation
for expanding cooperation between UNIDO and Croatian state
institutions and the private sector.
Voicing confidence that Croatia would soon join the European Union,
Magarinos stressed that once the country was in the EU special
importance would be attached to those areas -- numerous possibilities
would open for Croatian businessmen, but they would also face a number
of challenges for which they must start preparing now.
