SPLIT, April 18 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), Vesna Pusic, told reporters in Split that Stjepan Mesic with his work so far made possible for himself to run for president in the second mandate.

his work so far made possible for himself to run for president in the

Pusic said that the HNS fully supported Mesic as a presidential
candidate. The party considers Mesic to be the HNS candidate which is
why it will not nominate another candidate for the presidential
election, Pusic said.
She said the HNS was a big party, the third one in Croatia, and that
it has 19,000 members. Pusic also said Mesic contributed to the
party's popularity.
