QUEER ZAGREB FILM AND MUSIC FESTIVAL TO BE HELD ON APRIL 23-30

ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - The international festival Queer Zagreb Film and Music, which questions heteronormativity and traditional relations of strict gender divisions, will be held in the Croatian capital on April 23-30, it was said at a news conference on Thursday.#L# Last year's festival was dedicated to theatre while this year's event will focus on film and music, the director of the festival programme, Zvonimir Dobrovic, said. The event will feature different music programmes, including a concert by the London Gay Symphonic Orchestra, to be held at the Vatroslav Lisinski concert hall on April 27, and some 50 feature films, documentaries and cartoons. The festival, which will pool artists from 15 countries, will be taking place on several locations in Zagreb, including "Tuskanac" and "Europa" cinemas, MM Centar, and "Gjuro" and "Tockica" clubs. The Croatian Culture Ministry and the Zagreb City Culture Department financed the event with 120,000 kuna (16,000 euros), while most of the funds were provided by different embassies and cultural centres.
