ZAGREB, April 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Friday sent a letter to the Archbishop of Zagreb and President of the Croatian Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, extending his best wishes for Easter to him, the
Catholic clergy and all the Catholic faithful in the country.
ZAGREB, April 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Friday
sent a letter to the Archbishop of Zagreb and President of the
Croatian Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Josip Bozanic, extending his
best wishes for Easter to him, the Catholic clergy and all the
Catholic faithful in the country.#L#
"I believe that the Catholic Church in this country will continue
encouraging and promoting all programmes contributing to the common
good in cooperation with the State authorities," the letter said.
The president also sent an Easter message to the Serb Orthodox
Metropolitan of Zagreb, Ljubljana and Italy, Jovan, and all Serb
Orthodox believers in Croatia, expressing his "satisfaction with the
efforts made by the Serb Orthodox Church in developing good relations
with institutions of the Republic of Croatia and promoting an
atmosphere of reconciliation and tolerance in the country."
