ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - Croatian Health and Social Welfare Minister
Andrija Hebrang on Monday sent a letter to the president of the
Croatian Journalists' Association (HND), Dragutin Lucic, saying he did
not blame journalists for receiving fees for their work in the Health
Ministry and the Croatian Health Insurance Agency (HZZO). Hebrang
invited Lucic for a meeting to clear all misunderstandings #L#
"I did not blame reporters for such cooperation, but in defending the
HZZO leadership I said that was a regular practice,". Hebrang said in
the letter in response to Lucic's urging that he present the HND with
evidence which would back claims that reporters had been receiving
fees for cooperation with the ministry.
Hebrang said he was collecting the requested documentation, adding
that he needed a week for that because the documents covered the
period from 1990 to the present day.
Lucic told Hina he accepted the invitation to meet.
