CROATIAN FILM 'SVJEDOCI' WOWS AUDIENCE AT BERLIN FILM FESTIVAL

BERLIN, Feb 7 (Hina) - Croatian director Vinko Bresan's latest film "Svjedoci" (Witnesses) had its world premiere at the 54th International Film Festival in Berlin.#L# The film received standing ovations at the packed Berlinale Palast. According to a brief survey, both the Berlin and the international public were impressed by the atypical narration and the subtle depiction of a society whose civilian values are destroyed by war. Most respondents maintain the film was selected for the festival's official competition because of the current issue of war crimes. "Svjedoci" is based on a Jurica Pavicic book.
