Whenever possible, the tribunal should refrain from giving
authoritative interpretations of history and should limit itself to
finding if a defendant is guilty or not, writes Ksenija Turkovic from
the Zagreb Law School's department of criminal law. She stresses that
judges are not qualified for giving historical interpretations as such
interpretations often end up simplifying and impoverishing historical
knowledge.
