As an important factor in the region, Croatia must continue adjusting
its norms and standards to those in force in the European Union,
Solana told reporters after the meeting. He "expressed a positive
opinion of the first steps by the new Croatian government," the
television said.
In his address to the Foreign Policy Committee of the European
Parliament on Thursday, Zuzul said that Croatia could enter the EU
already in 2007 or 2008 and that his government would spare no effort
to meet the required criteria through the process of reform that has
been initiated.
On Friday, Zuzul is scheduled to meet Belgian State Minister Jean Luc
Dehaene, after which he will attend a discussion on the subject of
"Transforming the Western Balkans - A Progress Report".
