The Croatian minister, who is on an official visit to Ukraine, met President Viktor Yushchenko, Deputy Prime Minister Vyacheslav Kirilenko, Parliament Speaker Volodimir Litvin, and Foreign Minister Boris Tarasyuk, with whom she signed an agreement on the liberalisation of the visa regime.
Grabar Kitarovic and President Yushchenko agreed that relations between Croatia and Ukraine were friendly and that there were no outstanding issues, as well as that there were possibilities for developing and promoting cooperation, especially in the area of the economy.
They discussed concrete areas of cooperation, including the power industry, transport and military-technical cooperation. Grabar Kitarovic announced that Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Croatian business people would visit Ukraine.
Ukrainian Deputy PM Kirilenko said Ukraine was interested in being a partner-country at the Zagreb Trade Fair and that it was following with interest developments in Croatia with regard to European integration, science, culture and education, the statement said.
