ZAGREB, Oct 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Constitutional Court has
refused as unfounded a motion by the Italian Union to assess if the law on
counties, cities and municipalities is in line with the Constitution. Representatives of the Italian minority submitted the motion dissatisfied
with the fact that the names of some cities and municipalities in Istria are
not written in two languages, in Croatian and Italian.
The Constitutional Court dismissed the motion, explaining that
bilingual names are a matter regulated by the statutes of local communities and
authorities.
