The association also elected its other bodies, adopted the texts of its statute and programme declaration, and a decision to enter the association into Croatia's registry of associations.
Glavas said the economic situation in the eastern region of Slavonia and Baranja was disastrous and that the HDSSB advocated an equal status with the other parts of Croatia as well as a new regional organisation which would see to the equal development of all Croatian regions.
Glavas said the HDSSB was against any "regional nationalism" which would be directed towards the disintegration of Croatia.
He added the association rejected the concept of federalisation of Croatia and wanted to cooperate with the state government regardless of the political option in power.
Glavas said the HDSSB would support Euro-regional and transborder cooperation, and that regionalisation was encouraged by European institutions and part of the strategy of joining the European Union.
Glavas said the HDSSB was an association of citizens which wanted to gather people of various political orientations.
Present at today's conference, among others, were Osijek Mayor Anto Djapic and Osijek-Baranja County prefect Kresimir Bubalo.
