Representatives of countries signatories to US-Adriatic Charter meet in Macedonia

SKOPJE, Sept 26 (Hina) - The chiefs of staff of the armed forces of Macedonia, Croatia and Albania - signatories to the US-Adriatic Charter - met in Ohrid, Macedonia, on Monday for the third meeting on progress made in reforming national armed forces and adjusting them to NATO standards.

The meeting is attended by army chiefs of staff Miroslav Stojanovski of Macedonia, Josip Lucic of Croatia and Beljim Cazimi of Albania. The two-day event was opened by Macedonian Defence Minister Jovan Manasjevski. Addressing the participants, US Ambassador to Macedonia Julian Milovanovic stressed that the standpoint of Washington and Brussels was that each country should be evaluated according to its own merits in implementing reforms.

The meeting is also attended by representatives of NATO, the United States and the armed forces of Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro.

The meeting will end with the signing of a joint declaration.
