ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - Ethnic Bosniaks' associations in Croatia are organising commemorations this week to mark the 10th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, which happened in July 1995 when Serb forces overran the Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) enclave of Srebrenica and killed about 8,000 local Bosniaks.

The commemorations called "Remembering Srebrenica 1995- 2005" will be held in Zagreb from 4 to 8 July under the auspices of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.

"So far we have established the identities of 8,106 victims of the Srebrenica tragedy and this is a warning that something like that must not ever again happen," said the author of the programme, Sena Kulenovic at a news conference in Zagreb on Monday.

She informed reporters that on 5 July an exhibition of photos about the Srebrenica atrocity will be staged in the offices of the Bosniak ethnic community in Zagreb. On 7 July, a round table discussion on this topic will be held in the Croatian Journalists' Association, and the book entitled "Roman o Srebrenici" ("Novel on Srebrenica" in an unofficial translation) will be promoted in the Islamic Centre. On 8 July a commemorative meeting will be held in the 'Vatroslav Lisinki' hall.

A delegation of ethnic Bosniaks in Croatia will depart for Srebrenica, eastern Bosnia, on 11 July to attend central ceremonies in memory of victims of the Srebrenica massacre, which is regarded as the gravest war crime in Europe after the Second World War.
