After the defence of Berislav Pusic, head of the commission for the exchange of prisoners of war in the former self-styled Croat Community of Herceg Bosna, finished their closing arguments on Thursday morning, the lead prosecutor Scott asked to be given some time to respond to defence lawyers' statements.
The defence teams asked for the acquittal of their clients, leaders of Herceg Bosna -- Prime Minister Jadranko Prlic, Defence Minister Bruno Stojic, Croat Defence Council (HVO) generals Slobodan Praljak and Milivoj Petkovic, HVO military police commander Valentin Coric, and Pusic.
On the other hand, the prosecution of the UN tribunal asked that they be found guilty and given prison sentences ranging from 25 to 40 years.
The trial commenced in April 2006.
