The discussion was presided by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who cited the example of Croatia while speaking about the importance of regional and inter-regional cooperation.
Minister Grabar Kitarovic said that defining a clear goal - in Croatia's case full membership of the European Union - was a catalyst in the implementation of internal structural and social reforms aimed at strengthening democratisation and establishing a functioning market.
Grabar Kitarovic met on the margins of the conference with a number of colleagues, including the US Secretary of State, who welcomed the progress Croatia had made in the last two years in strengthening democracy.
Grabar Kitarovic also met Moroccan Deputy Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, Paraguayan Foreign Minister Leila Rachid de Cowles and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
She is also to meet the foreign ministers of New Zealand, Mali, India, Ukraine and the Republic of Palau.
On Saturday, the last day of her official visit to Chile, Grabar Kitarovic will meet representatives of the Croat community living in Chile.
