Seven identified victims from Klina mass grave were local Serbs

PRISTINA, April 24 (Hina) - Seven out of nine identified bodies thathave been unearthed from a mass grave discovered recently at the Jamasite near Klina, central Kosovo, are remains of Serbs from theOrahovac municipality, the head of the UNMIK department for missingpersons, Jose Pablo Barayibar, said in Pristina on Saturday evening.
PRISTINA, April 24 (Hina) - Seven out of nine identified bodies that have been unearthed from a mass grave discovered recently at the Jama site near Klina, central Kosovo, are remains of Serbs from the Orahovac municipality, the head of the UNMIK department for missing persons, Jose Pablo Barayibar, said in Pristina on Saturday evening.

Barayiba said that so far remains of 22 victims, killed in 1999, had been discovered. Seven identified victims lived in Orahovac, Another two victims are also believed to have lived there. The UN Mission in Kosovo said the families had been notified of the identification.

An investigating team is continuing with exhumation.

Pristina and Belgrade last month reopened talks on missing persons. It is assumed that nearly 3,000 ethnic Albanians, 500 Serbs and 200 non-Albanians went missing during the war, Kosovo press reported last week when the mass grave near Klina was discovered.
