According to the conclusions of the rally, organised under the slogan "The Truth about the Homeland Defence War", Croatian authorities have prevented Gotovina from giving interviews to the tribunal's investigators.
The conclusions read that veterans are in favour of Croatia's entry into the European Union, but that they are against the transfer of the fugitive general Gotovina to the tribunal in The Hague.
They also insist that by 10 March the Croatian authorities find out who forged the transcript of the 1995 Brijuni meeting and who sent it to the tribunal's prosecutors, who then used it as a basis for compiling the indictment against Gotovina and other Croatian generals.
We won the Homeland Defence War and we have had enough of those who did not take part in the war talking about it and judging it, the veterans said in their conclusions.
No representative from the Ministry of Veterans' Affairs attended the Zadar event, while telegrams with messages sent by Minister Jadranka Kosor and the Office of the Croatian President were greeted with boos.
Addressing the event, retired General Ivan Roso, who was given an enthusiastic reception, said that they were "fed up with the political prostitution which is distorting facts about the Homeland Defence War."
"If our voice is not heard or if some do not want to hear it, we are ready for various actions and we will not stop," General Roso said.
