The event was opened by the head of the Alexandrian Library, Taher A. Khalifa, and Croatian Ambassador to Cairo Ivica Tomic, who both said that cultural and political relations between Egypt and Croatia were very good.
Khalifa said that this was the second Croatian exhibition at the Library since it was reconstructed in 2002.
The exhibition, which promotes Croatia as the homeland of the tie, features some 60 works in different visual arts techniques, including works by three Egyptian artists.
The show also includes the latest collection of the "Croata" tie manufacturer, which is inspired by the ancient Egyptian civilisation.
The three-week event was organised by the non-profit association Academica Cravatica from Zagreb, the Croatian Embassy in Egypt and the Alexandrian Library.
