Jurica Caha and Krstina Pucko, who were visiting Sri Lanka as tourists at the time the tsunami hit the area and who survived the disaster, will start their month-long mission in Tangalle, where they were staying on December 26, it was said at a news conference in Croatia Caritas.
Sri Lanka's honorary consul to Croatia, Vlatko Rukavina, told reporters that a dozen Croatians were already in Sri Lanka helping remove the consequences of the disaster.
Caritas Croatia has so far raised 4.75 million kuna (approx. 630,000 euros) for tsunami victims, and sent medicines, children food and toiletries for 50,000 people worth one million kuna.
