Speaking at a news conference in Pula on Saturday, Jakovcic said it was good that Sanader and Jansa were speaking differently than when they were part of the opposition.
Dialogue between the two governments is necessary and contributes to an atmosphere of good neighbourly relations, Jakovcic said.
Party vice-president Damir Kajin said that the issue of Piran Bay had been settled by "opposition rightists in Croatia and Slovenia" who were now in power and spoke from a different position on the matter.
"It is good that both sides are advocating international arbitration in settling border issues. However, the proposal put forward by the Slovene foreign minister to set up a historical commission could cost Croatia dearly," Kajin said. Croatia is rightfully invoking the conclusions of the Badinter commission, which favoured neither Croatia nor Slovenia, but the truth, Kajin added.
