Asked if he would call Croatian Ambassador to the Unite States Neven Jurica for talks, Mesic said that first the Foreign Ministry needed to carry out all actions that it announced it would, adding that then he would see if additional measures were required.
"I do not wish to pass any conclusions in advance," the president told reporters.
At the time when the scandal happened in Los Angeles, Bakota was Foreign Ministry State Secretary.
Asked to comment on the article in Bosnian Dnevni Avaz daily in which Bosnian Prime Minister Adnan Terzic has accused the Croatian government of continuing to blackmail his country regarding the signing of an agreement on amendments to the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and of using Macedonia to blackmail Bosnia, Mesic said Croatia was not blackmailing anyone.
"Croatia is fighting for its interests, other countries are fighting for theirs and results can be achieved by agreement," Mesic said.
Mesic is confident that the agreement with CEFTA should be signed because CEFTA had helped former members to advance their economies.
