ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - The Croatian government's public relations office on Thursday dismissed media reports about the involvement of the head of the prime minister's office, Bianca Matkovic, in alleged unlawful activities linked with the ministry of foreign affairs.

"The Government most resolutely dismisses media insinuations about the involvement of Bianca Matkovic in alleged unlawful activities linked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration," the government's public relations office said in a statement.

Some Croatian media reported that an employee with the Croatian consulate in Los Angeles, Bozica Barisic, had concealed for two years an alleged drug scandal in which the main suspect was her husband Bernard Barisic, whom the US police caught buying drugs. The media reported that Bozica Barisic bragged about her relationship with Bianca Matkovic who had allegedly helped her find the job with the consulate at the time she worked at the foreign ministry and before she became head of the prime minister's office.
