ZAGREB, Nov 16 (Hina) - A total of EUR443.6 million will be invested in the second stage of construction of a gas supply network in Croatia, in the 2007-11 period, Economy Minister Branko Vukelic said at a government session on Thursday.
ZAGREB, Nov 16 (Hina) - A total of EUR443.6 million will be invested in the second stage of construction of a gas supply network in Croatia, in the 2007-11 period, Economy Minister Branko Vukelic said at a government session on Thursday.

The first stage is nearing completion and the Pula-Karlovac pipeline will be inaugurated on November 22.

This will be the first time that Croatian gas from fields in the northern Adriatic is directly transported to the continental part of Croatia, said Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.

The biggest investment in the second stage of construction of the gas supply network, worth EUR249.7 million euros, will be made in the construction of the Bosiljevo-Split-Ploce pipeline. Vukelic said this second stage also envisaged connections to new supply routes in Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia.

The government agreed to be the patron of the opening of a memorial museum and educational centre at Jasenovac, the site of a World War Two death camp, on November 27.

The government also gave its consent to the Croatian Ski Association for organising the FIS Women's Slalom World Cup on Mount Sljeme, overlooking Zagreb, on January 4.

The government also gave its consent for a professional code of ethics for customs employees.

At the closed part of the session, Ante Krsticevic was appointed assistant agriculture minister, while Otto Jungwirth would remain at the helm of the Croatian Mine Action Centre.
