ZAGREB, Oct 10 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic received a
delegation of the Croatian Red Cross (HCK) on Tuesday to discuss a report on
the return of refugees, compiled by the UNHCR and the HCK, the President's
Office said in a press release. According to the report, 35 per cent
of refugees have returned to their prewar homes in Croatia, which is the
highest percentage of refugee returns in Europe since the Spanish civil war.
A proposal was put forward to hold a meeting with representatives of
the international community in order to update them on the refugee return
process.
Mesic supported the HCK's activities and agreed to act as its
patron.
