Sanader questioned in Salzburg

ZAGREB, Feb 4 (Hina) - Former Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, detained in a Salzburg prison, was on Friday questioned by investigators of the Austrian anti-corruption agency, its spokesman Martin Ulrich told Hina.

Sanader was interviewed on Friday morning but it was not revealed what he was questioned about.

Sanader's Austrian attorney Werner Suppan said yesterday that his client's questioning, which was to have taken place on Thursday, was postponed until Friday for organisational reasons.

According to the lawyer, the hearing should be a continuation of a hearing that started on December 23, when Sanader was questioned via video link. On that occasion, Sanader strongly dismissed suspicions that arose after a Tyrolean bank filed a report against him for money laundering and after reports appeared saying that there was 1.3 million euros in Sanader's and his relatives' bank accounts in Austria.
