ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Monday afternoon confirmed a joint statement which prime ministers Ivo Sanader of Croatia and Janez Jansa of Slovenia adopted on Saturday when they met to discuss problems surrounding Croatia's plans to build a dyke on the left bank of the Mura River near the Sveti Martin na Muri - Hotiza border crossing.

Earlier in the day, the Slovene media reported that the Slovene Government also confirmed the six-point joint statement.

During their visit to a disputed stretch of the border between two countries two days ago, the premiers Sanader and Jansa agreed on the continuation of the embankment construction to protect locals in the Croatian Medjimurje area and in the Slovene area of Prekmurje against floods.

After today's session which it held by the phone, the Sanader cabinet also made public the entire text of the statement.
