Although official results for the said period are not available yet, Kalmeta said he was confident they would be better than they had been in the same period last year.
Addressing a meeting of the National Tourism Board, the minister said that a billion euros had been invested in the preparation of this year's tourist season, about 50 per cent of which in accommodation facilities and the rest in infrastructure and supporting facilities.
Kalmeta expressed hope that this year's tourist season would be much more successful in financial terms than last year's.
