Croatia marks positive migration balance

ZAGREB, July 2 (Hina) - A total of 14,230 people move to and 6,012 people moved out of Croatia last year, which resulted in a positive migration balance that started in 1996, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported last week,

The majority of people who moved to Croatia last year came from Bosnia-Herzegovina (58.7 percent), while the majority of people moved out of Croatia left to Serbia and Montenegro (44.2 percent), and Bosnia-Herzegovina (17.5 percent).

Of the people who moved to Croatia last year, 94 percent are Croatian citizens and six percent are foreigners. Of those who moved out of Croatia, 91.6 percent are Croatian citizens and the rest were foreigners.

Most of the people that moved to Croatia decided to live in Zagreb (16.2 percent) and Split-Dalmatia County (16.1 percent).
