The presentation was held in Sisak by HCR manager Otto Jungwirth. In attendance were the chief of the European Commission Delegation in Croatia, Vincent Degert, representatives of Austria, France, Iran, Italy, Norway, Germany, Slovakia, the United States, Russia, Hungary, Malaysia, Serbia, Korea, the OSCE, ASB, the US Chamber of Commerce, ITF, and NPA.
Jungwirth thanked them for their donations and support for the normalisation of living and economic development in formerly war-struck areas.
A total of 302 million kuna will be invested in demining this year, of which 49.8 per cent will be set aside in the national budget, 28.5 per cent will be provided by legal persons, bodies of state administration and local self-government, 18.4 per cent from domestic and foreign donations, and 3.3 per cent from a World Bank loan.
The biggest donation this year, of 15 million kuna, will be provided by the European Union, and high donations are also expected from the US and Norway.
Jungwirth presented Degert at a ceremony in Petrinja with a certificate on the completion of four demining projects which were financed with a EUR1 million donation by the European Commission via the CARDS programme.
Degert said the Commission would continue to help with demining in Croatia, including the border with Serbia.
