DRNIS, April 20 (Hina) - The authorities of the southern town of
Drnis in the Sibenik hinterland on Wednesday evening held a charity concert the
proceeds of which went for the financing of the defence of General Ante
Gotovina. In addition, the town leadership decided to allocate funds from the
town budget for this purpose, too. So far, the town has collected
about 50,000 kuna as financial help to the defence of Gotovina and other
Croatian generals indicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the
former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
The authorities of the coastal city of Zadar in March also decided to
allocate funds from the city budget for the defence of Gotovina and other
indicted generals.
Zadar paid 500,00 kuna into the foundation called "For the Truth About
the Homeland Defence War" which was established, among other things, for the
financing of the defence of the said generals and for the promotion of the
truth about the Homeland Defence War which Croatia waged in 1990s.
