The chairman of the parliamentary Committee on European Integration, Neven Mimica, attended the meeting.
Kuehnl voiced full support for Croatia's efforts to join the European Union and NATO, saying the Union could not be full without Croatia, which he added was part of Europe.
Speaking of reforms necessary for the EU integration process, he said they should not be carried out solely for the purpose of membership of the Union, as had been the Czech Republic's case, which he added had met with negative reactions among the public.
Reforms should be in the interest of citizens and to their benefit, and this is an approach citizens will support, said Kuehnl.
Pusic agreed with the Czech minister that it was very important to develop a communication strategy so that the public could be informed as much as possible about what EU membership offered.
Speaking of the advantages of membership, Kuehnl highlighted economic and tourism development.
