MOSTAR, April 4 (Hina) - The Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) has adopted draft amendments to the agreement on Bosnia's constitutional changes.

The HDZ BiH leadership formulated its amendments on Monday evening after a hours-long session in the southern city of Mostar, the party's press office stated in a press release last night.

The HDZ amendments will be forwarded to state institutions, all signatories of the said agreement, the U.S. Administration and European Commission officials in Bosnia.

The press release does not specify the contents of the amendments.

The agreement on the constitutional changes has recently met with disapproval from the Catholic Church in Bosnia whose dignitaries criticised the deal as detrimental to the interests of the Bosnian Croat people and called on parliamentarians representing the Croats not to vote for it.

Following the Catholic bishops' appeal, the club of deputies of the HDZ BiH changed its name into the club of deputies of the Croat people and stated it would not vote for the agreement on the constitutional changes, which had already been signed by the HDZ BiH President Dragan Covic.

In addition to Covic, the leaders of another five major parliamentary parties have signed the deal.
