ZAGREB, March 17 (Hina) - Officials from the Department for
Missing Persons and Detainees of the Croatian Ministry of Family Affairs, War
Veterans and Intergenerational Solidary on Friday took charge of the mortal
remains of six persons killed during the 1991-1995 war and buried in
Serbia. The remains, found in Sombor, Belgrade, Sabac and Subotica,
were claimed at the Erdut-Bugojevo border crossing in eastern Croatia.
The bodies have been identified based on documents earlier obtained
from Serbia and DNA analysis results, and the victims' families have been
notified, the ministry said in a statement.
The bodies were handed over as part of an agreement reached at talks on
missing persons that took place in Zagreb last month.
The statement announced exhumations of unidentified bodies in Pancevo
and Smederevo, Serbia, next month.
