Bosnian SDP confirms positive response from other 3 parties to its proposal

SARAJEVO, Dec 18 (Hina) - Political parties which were offered a platform for cooperation in forging a ruling coalition by the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina have positively responded to the proposal, and the platform will be made public on Monday, the Bosnian state broadcaster BHT1 reported on Saturday.

The SDP spokesman Damir Masic said that his party received affirmative answers from the (Bosnian Muslim) Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and two Croat parties -- the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) and the d the (Bosnian Croat party) "Work for Progress" (NSRzB),

The coalition of these four parties could count on 57 members in the 98-seat lower house of the parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the 42-seat lower house in the state parliament, 28 seats are allocated for representatives from the federation (the Croat-Muslim entity), and the above-mentioned coalition could count on 17 representatives.

The leader of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH), Dragan Covic said that his party and the HDZ 1990 would impede the establishment of the new government in the Croat-Muslim Federation, which will consequently affect efforts to set up the government at the state level, too.

He accuses the SDP of trying to eliminate those two major Bosnian Croat parties from the Bosnian political scene through a coalition with minor Bosnian Croat parties.
