Two presidents hail new bridge as confirmation of excellent bilateral ties

HUM NA SUTLI , Oct 2 (Hina) - The new bridge across the Sutla River connecting the Vetropack Straza manufacturer of glass packaging products, located on the Croatian bank of the river, with the manufacturer's warehouse on the Slovenian bank, was hailed on Saturday by the Croatian and Slovenian presidents, Ivo Josipovic and Danilo Tuerk, as the confirmation of the excellent bilateral relations.

Addressing a ceremony of the 150th anniversary of the Vetropack Straza company, after the bridge inauguration in the Croatian town of Hum na Sutli, President Josipovic praised this glass manufacturer for its excellent results during the ongoing economic crisis.

He also pointed out that Vatropack Straza had smoothly undergone the process of privatisation.

Josipovic went on to say the newly-built bridge just as all bridges would serve as connection.

This bridge connects Croatia and Slovenia, two friendly countries, and facilitate the passage of local people and commuters, he said adding that the bridge showed that much could be done by concerted efforts.

Slovenian President Tuerk, who together with Josipovic officially inaugurated the bridge, said that this symbolically finished an era in which all previously closed bridges had been opened.

"We have really made great progress," Tuerk said at the event observing the factory's anniversary.
