"The signing and implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements among the countries of Southeast Europe is an important prerequisite for security, stability and cooperation in the region," Kirin said at the signing ceremony in Bucharest on Thursday.
The action plan provides for operational cooperation in combating international crime in conformity with the agreement between the governments of Croatia and Romania on cooperation in combating terrorism, organised crime and illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances. The action plan also provides for the possibility of forming joint task forces for individual areas. On Croatia's part, implementation of the plan will be coordinated by the Croatian Police Directorate.
Kirin was attending an informal meeting of interior ministers from Southeast European countries, which closes on Friday.
