ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - A state secretary at the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Marija Pejcinovic Buric, on Wednesday met Anne-Marie Sigmund, co-chairwoman of the EU-Croatia Committee in charge of
monitoring civil society, for talks on the course of Croatia's EU entry negotiations, with emphasis on the opening of six new chapters of the EU acquis communautaire, the ministry said in a statement.
ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - A state secretary at the Croatian Foreign
Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Marija Pejcinovic Buric, on
Wednesday met Anne-Marie Sigmund, co-chairwoman of the EU-Croatia Committee in
charge of monitoring civil society, for talks on the course of Croatia's EU
entry negotiations, with emphasis on the opening of six new chapters of the EU
acquis communautaire, the ministry said in a statement. Pejcinovic
Buric said that the announced new institutional structure of the European Union
would greatly facilitate Croatia's accession process, the ministry said.
Sigmund said she was particularly interested in having Croatian
representatives of civil society participate in EU membership talks and in
talks on some chapters of the EU legislation.
She said that a report on Croatia's accession path, dealing with the
socioeconomic and political situation and the role of civil society in Croatia,
would soon be completed.
Sigmund also said that the second session of the EU-Croatia Committee
monitoring civil society would hold its second session in Split on October.
