ZAGREB, April 13 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Friday received the UN's deputy special envoy for Kosovo, Albert Rohan, and two Kosovo government ministers, Mesic's office said in a statement.

Ambassador Rohan recalled the basic elements of UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari's plan for Kosovo's final status.

Under the plan, the Serb minority in Kosovo will get rights without precedent in the world, and the provisions regarding that comprise the majority of the plan already presented to the Security Council, the statement said.

Rohan, however, pointed to the negative aspects of the fact that Kosovo Serb representatives are refusing to participate in any way in efforts to define the final status of the province.

President Mesic positively assessed Ahtisaari's plan and recalled the specific constitutional and legal position Kosovo had in the former Yugoslavia, which he said provided no grounds to compare Kosovo with the so-called frozen conflicts in the former Soviet Union.

Mesic also received Kosovo's Interior Minister Blerim Kuci and Justice Minister Januz Salihaj, who had attended a Southeast European Cooperation Process conference in Zagreb.

They talked about judicial reform, the strengthening of regional cooperation in the fight against corruption, current developments in Kosovo, and the definition of the province's status.
