ZAGREB, April 13 (Hina) - Ivica Racan's condition remains critical and as of last night, due to his general physical condition and the medication he is receiving, the former leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) is not communicating with his environment, the SDP said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

The doctors' team established that the incontrollable growth of the tumour caused severe pain in Racan's right shoulder and head, which called for administering high doses of painkillers.

Vital functions remain stable. Further prognosis will depend on Racan's general physical condition and the speed at which the tumour will grow, the SDP said.
