ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - Forty companies have been privatised through public tenders during the incumbent government, while 39 were privatised under the previous government between 2000 and 2003, Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP) president Grga Ivezic said on Thursday.

HFP experts were requested to provide comparable data on privatisation under the current and former governments by the chairman of the HFP Steering Board, Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec.

Speaking at a Steering Board session, Ivezic said the HFP alone had generated 682 million kuna from privatisation processes under the incumbent government, which was 35 million kuna more than under the ex-government.

Under the incumbent government, four billion kuna worth of direct investment has been put in privatised companies, up 2.6 billion kuna than under the previous government.

Ivezic also said that more jobs had been saved in privatised companies under the current government.
