Jansa made the statement after a session of a coordinating body of Slovene parliamentary parties which also discussed other topics causing division on Slovenia's political scene, such as the future organisation of the country into regions and the issue of non-Slovenes who in the early 1992 were removed from the register of permanent residents because they failed to seek or were not granted Slovene citizenship, which resulted in their losing their rights.
Dissatisfied with unresolved relations with Croatia, two Slovene parties sent to parliament draft resolutions on those relations. After a recent meeting of a strategic council of the Slovene foreign ministry, it was announced that the government would send to parliament a resolution conveying its political will regarding relations with Croatia and formulating harmonised positions of Slovene parties on border issues, in case of new talks or arbitration.
Jansa said that most parliamentary parties supported the government's position that a resolution on relations with Croatia was not necessary at present and that it would not resolve outstanding issues.
The Slovene PM said that dialogue with Croatia would continue.
