ZAGREB, April 3 (Hina) - Almost 30,000 people gathered in Zagreb's main square on Tuesday afternoon to welcome back Croatia's national water polo team from Australia where they had won the gold medal in the world championships two
days ago.

main square on Tuesday afternoon to welcome back Croatia's national water polo
team from Australia where they had won the gold medal in the world
championships two days ago. The homecoming party in Ban Jelacic
Square featured some of the most famous Croatian pop singers and bands, who
further electrified the atmosphere.
Later on, the world champions led by coach Ratko Rudic were received by
President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader. They were decorated by
President Mesic for promoting Croatia in the world.
Sanader said that each member of the national water polo team would be
awarded 100,000 kuna for their success.
