Addressing an event marking the 17th anniversary of the establishment of a local branch of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) in Glina, Sanader said on Sunday evening that a segment concerning radio-active waste and the location at Trgovska Gora would be removed from Croatia's regional planning.
He called on other political parties in Sisak County to stop politicising the issue.
Recently the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) that are in power in the county, expressed worries about a possibility that nuclear waste may be stored at Trgovska Gora, some 100 kilometres south of Zagreb, and near the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina.
