"We talked with the commissioner about the importance of media independence and enabling reporters and editors to have more influence in editorial policies and in the appointment of editors-in-chief in private and public media," HND president Zdenko Duka told reporters after meeting Reding.
According to him, the EC official supported journalists' efforts to establish with publishers and civil society associations a media council, similar to solutions which exist in Luxembourg, from where she comes.
