BREMEN, March 31 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, together with her counterparts from other EU membership candidates, attended an informal meeting of European Union foreign ministers in the northwestern German city of Bremen on Saturday.

"I spoke with a number of foreign ministers and I talked about Croatia's negotiating process. This year Croatia wants to open as many negotiating chapters as possible and I can say there is an understanding and readiness to help in order to speed up the mechanisms of the European Commission and other EU bodies," Grabar-Kitarovic told Croatian reporters.

EU foreign ministers met in Bremen on Friday and Saturday for an informal meeting. The main topic discussed on Friday was Kosovo, while the Middle East peace process and Iran's nuclear programme were discussed on Saturday.

The foreign ministers of the candidate countries joined the meeting at a working lunch on Saturday, during the discussion on Iran.

Grabar-Kitarovic said that Croatia supported the European Union's views on Kosovo and that it would continue to adjust its position to the policy of the European Union.
