Ranieri, who is the chairman of the Italian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, is at the helm of Italy's parliamentarian delegation that is visiting Croatia for the first time since the country gained independence.
Italy has been supporting these Croatian efforts for some time now and the entire Italian Parliament supports Croatia's aspirations to join the European Union and NATO," Ranieri told reporters after talks with the chairman of the Croatian Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee, Gordan Jandrokovic.
The two officials agreed on a number of issues from the foreign policy front and expressed satisfaction with overall bilateral relations.
Jandrokovic added that there was room for promoting the overall relations.
Italy's is Croatia's number one foreign trade partner, Ranieri stressed, adding that a total of 4,600 Italian companies were doing business with Croatia and that Italy is the fourth biggest investor in Croatia.
