"On Friday, 23 March, a round table meeting entitled '50 years of the EU: lessons for the future' will be held at 11.00, at the EU Info Centre in Zagreb .... The event will provide an occasion to reflect on the evolution of European integration since the Treaty of Rome and to share the views on the future of the European Union," the EC Delegation reported, among other things, on its web site.
"For the general public of the Croatian capital, on Saturday, 24th March, at 11.00, a big EU birthday party will take place in the Ban Jelacic Square. H.E. Mr Degert, the Mayor of Zagreb, Mr Bandic, and the German Ambassador to Croatia, Mr Peters, will jointly cut a giant cake and offer it to the citizens of Zagreb."
