The minimum living costs of a family living in rented accommodation in January were 7,231.76 kuna, enough to cover a mere 44.45 per cent of the costs.
A family that owns a car spent at least an additional 846.97 kuna per month.
The highest living costs were recorded in southwestern Croatia (Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Lika-Senj County and Istria County) -- 6,098.13 kuna, while the lowest were registered in the Slavonia region (Osijek-Baranja County, Brod-Posavina County, Virovitica-Podravina County, Vukovar-Srijem County and Pozega-Slavonia County) -- 5,512.39 kuna.
Costs were calculated on the basis of expenses for food, accommodation, transport, hygiene, clothing, education and culture.
