Margetic was indicted by the tribunal after publishing a list of 102 protected witnesses in the summer of 2006. Awaiting a judgement, scheduled for February 7, he began a hunger strike last Friday, saying that he was ready to die if he was sentenced to prison.
"Margetic was examined in Merkur and his condition was diagnosed, after which he was referred to the Vrapce psychiatric hospital for consultations with a psychiatrist and a neurologist," lawyer Veljko Miljevic told Hina.
Hina has received several messages from private web sites containing dramatic descriptions of Margetic's condition.
Prosecutors at the tribunal insist that by revealing the identity of the protected witnesses on his web site, Margetic was aware of what he was doing and that he knowingly violated the tribunal's rules. The prosecution demand that Margetic be sentenced to six months in jail and fined 50,000 euro.
