The two offices are part of the project "Promoting Energy Efficiency in Croatia", whose launching today marked the beginning of a campaign called "Energy in our homes, let's live better and pay less".
Sisak is the first Croatian town to be actively involved in the pilot-project of systematic energy management.
The two offices were opened by Economy Minister Branko Vukelic. Speaking about the project "Promoting Energy Efficiency in Croatia", Vukelic said that preliminary surveys of energy consumption showed that energy costs in the country could be reduced by 20-30 percent.
He added that energy efficiency was already being introduced in line with the government program, and that the Ministry of the Economy was in charge of the project, with significant financial assistance from the UNDP and the Croatian Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency.
The purpose of the project is to raise awareness about the importance of energy efficiency in households, state and local government buildings, and in the economic sector.
